Crowns

If more than half of your tooth has been restored with a filling, a crown may be necessary for any further restoration. Without adequate support, the tooth may break away around the filling. Typically, when a filling becomes larger, a tooth becomes weaker, and a crown may be needed.  A crown covers the entire tooth and holds it together. Crowns are used when large fillings wear out, when a tooth is cracked, or to improve the appearance of a tooth.

We use durable, natural looking materials that blend in beautifully with your natural teeth. Crowns can be matched to your natural tooth color so the fact that you have had dental work is easily concealed. They can also restore stained or misshapen teeth for a wonderful smile. Crowns are also used to anchor bridges to the teeth on each side of a missing tooth (or teeth).
